DR. YEVGENIY KHAVKIN

Neuro-Spinal Surgeon

Raised in Russia, Dr. Yevgeniy Khavkin was inspired by his mother, a pediatric surgeon, to pursue a medical career after witnessing her work in the operating room. He began his medical education at the age of sixteen in Russia before his family relocated to the United States in 1994. There, he made history as the first international student to transfer to the University of Chicago’s Pritzker School of Medicine. He went on to complete his Neurosurgical Residency at the same institution and pursued a Fellowship in Complex and Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore.

Dr. Khavkin later served as the Director of Neurosurgical Spine Services at Northwestern University, earning acclaim for his expertise in complex oncological surgeries and for mentoring neurosurgery residents and fellows.

In 2010, he relocated to Las Vegas and founded the Khavkin Clinic, a multi-specialty practice. Dr. Khavkin describes the clinic as a collaborative team of top-tier professionals—colleagues and friends—who share a commitment to delivering the highest standards of ethical and medical care to their patients.

For over 15 years, Dr. Khavkin has dedicated himself to international humanitarian efforts, working to enhance medical care across several Eastern European nations.

Dr. Khavkin, along with his wife, Dr. Jeannie Khavkin, raises two sons and a daughter. Both are talented musicians, with Yevgeniy enjoying singing and playing the guitar, while Jeannie is a classically trained pianist. They often share their love of music as a family and have contributed their skills to Doctors in Concert, a fundraising event supporting the Nathan Adelson Hospice.
